The Inwood Buccaneer A.C. was awarded the 2010 Nassau County Youth Football League (NCYFL) Billy Ossolla Sportsmanship Award. This award is handed out to the town who best exemplifies the true meaning of sportsmanship. "This award is voted on by the NCYFL Board and league referees, its a great honor, it reflects not only the organization but the community's dedication with providing our youth program with the best experience" said Anthony Brites NCYFL Director who accepted the award. Inwood Buccaneer's football director Frank DeCicco Jr. said" this award is very special, It honors my fathers (President) long time commitment to the Buccaneers, I would also like to thank all of the coaches and volunteers, without them it would be impossible for this organization to exist."

"We can all agree that this is very special, our coaches dedication in teaching our young players sportsmanship in a competitive league is the true meaning" said Buccaneer V.P Patty Vacciho.

As the 2010 year comes to an end we need to thank all of the volunteers who commit hours of their time and bring youth sports to this community. We also need to thank the parents and families who are fully committed and make sure the kids get to practice and games. The biggest thank you goes out to our football players and cheerleaders, they are the reason we come out and watch every weekend, our kids are the true winners.

Billy Ossolla was a referee for many years and passed away from cancer, the award was presented by Mike Healy, Mike is the head referee for the NCYFL.
