Mineola Mayor Jack Martins' victory over Senator Craig Johnson has given the Republicans a 32 to 30 Senate majority. On January 31st Senator Dean Skelos will be positioned to become the majority leader of the Senate and one of the 3 men in the room along with Speaker silver and Governor elect Cuomo that will control the budget process. The Long Island delegation now consists of nine Republican Senators. These senators will work together to ensure Long Island 's interests are represented. We wish Senator Skelos the best as he takes on one of the most powerful political positions in the State.
